TEMPORARY EXHIBITION

The films are shown on the upper floor of the Centre.

A National Memorial for 22 July is going to be built in the Government Quarter. The memorial site will be located at Johan Nygaardsvold Square, next to the entrance pavilion of the new 22 July Centre.

To decide who is going to create the memorial and what it will look like, KORO (Public Art Norway) is organizing a competition. Ten selected design proposals was first narrowed down to three finalists, chosen by an interdisciplinary jury.

On 8 April 2025 the winner of the competition was announced:

A Continuation by Matias Faldbakken

The two other final proposals are:

22nd July National Memorial by Raqs Media Collective

22 July Memorial Grove by Henning Sunde, Hanne Tyrmi og Rainer Stange

The 22 July Centre will show a film for each of the three finalists.

As a visitor, you can share your opinions in the exhibition. What is a good memorial site for you? All submissions that are given will be kept for the future.
